Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan, son of Mir Akbar Khan, belongs to the Awan community and the Awan community has given many famous sons to the land of Hazara. Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan is one of them whose practical life is an example of hard work and social welfare.
Early Life Conditions:
Mr. Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan was born on 15-06-1964 in Machh, Balochistan. His father joined the Police Department in his early youth. He spent most of his career in Machh Jail and Sibbi Jail. In the eleventh year of his service, he resigned from the Jail Police due to his father’s illness and started looking after his father. However, unfortunately his father could not revive from the illness and died. A year after his father’s death, he joined the Sindh Police and after working for 28 years in various police stations and the State Bank of Pakistan, he got retirement in 2000. He is a practical Muslim who fulfills his religious obligations and presently resides in Karachi.
In 1964, when he was posted in Machh Jail, Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan was born during that time. Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan received his early education at Government Primary School, Thesi and Gohra. He got his middle education from Government High School Mohri Badbahan and secured first position in his school. Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan belonged to a poor family and did not have the resources to continue his education. Due to these circumstances, Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan’s maternal uncle who was posted as a lab tech in the Army Medical Corps at CMH Bahawalpur invited Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan to Bahawalpur for further education where he got admission in Cantt High School Fauji Basti Bahawalpur.
After passing the 9th standard, since the late uncle Shahzaman was posted to CMH Quetta, he passed the matriculation exam from Central High School, Gaint Road, Quetta. After passing the matriculation exam, Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan went to his father in Karachi where he passed his FSc Pre-Medical Group from Government College Nazimabad. He Couldn’t get admission in MBBS due to not appearing on merit. Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan, who was passionate about becoming a doctor, completed a four-year degree in MSc Microbiology from the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) and joined the institution as a Microbiologist in 1983. In January 1984, he was selected for Central Hospital, Al Baida, Libiya and joined the job.
It is very important to mention here that Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan did not have the money for the ticket to go to Libya, so he brought his mother’s gold ornaments to the famous goldsmith, Khawaj Muhammad Khan of Abbottabad and requested him to take the gold and pay Rs. 25000 in return. However, Mr Khawaj Muhammad Khan generously returned the jewels and gave him Rs. 25000 as a loan. Dr. Muhammad Nazir Awan still remember the good deed of late Khawaj Muhammad Khan and prays for him.
After spending three years in Libya, he returned home and started working at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences Islamabad (PIMS). In November 1988, he was selected as microbiologist in the Department of Health and Services, Government of Dubai. During this time, he performed his services in Central Hospital Umm Al Quwain New Ruwi Al Rashid Hospital Dubai and various hospitals. While serving at PIMS, he passed his M.Phil examination and also obtained his Ph.D in Microbiology from Islamia University of Bahawalpur in 1990 and officially started to write Dr. before his name.
At the end of 1995, he decided to return home from Dubai and joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf. He participated in the election from PF37 Abbottabad on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, which was the biggest mistake of life according to him. Therefore, on the advice of his mother, he left politics and dedicated his life to the social services. The purpose of Dr Mohammad Nazir Awan’s life is to obtain the blessings of Allah by serving humanity. He faced many challenges, but he did not lose heart and continued to do good deeds. His mission of life is services to people even if he has to walk on thorns. On Thursday, November 26, 2015, my 38-year-old brother Muhammad Zaheer Awan has been (Shaheed) so, I am engaged in my mission of serving the people by setting up a welfare trust named after my late brother Muhammad Zaheer Awan Shaheed, which is duly registered and has an office in Shah tower Mandian Mansehra Roads, Abbottabad. Muhammad Zaheer Awan (Shaheed) Welfare Trust presents a mega project named Hazara Institute of Cardiology. Which will be equipped with the facility of 500 beds and all heart diseases will be fully treated in it. Another project of Muhammad Zaheer Awan (Shaheed) Welfare Trust which will be a gift from me to my area is the Muhammad Zaheer Awan (Shaheed) and Ms. Fatima Memorial Hospiatl in Thessi.
