On June 23, the United Nations celebrated the International Day of widows. United Nations has been organizing this day since 2011. The purpose of celebrating this day is to highlight the issues of women whose husbands have lost their lives. According to the United Nations, 258 million women are widows who are deprived of basic rights and are victims of exploitation. The society starts its economic social exploitation. However, in Islam, we see that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) set an example by marrying a widow. Islam gives widows the right to remarry at will. In Islam, there is no room for such a thing to be imposed on a widow, so in developing countries, including Pakistan, deprivation of rights of widows are common, and among those who live below the poverty level, the problem has become a serious issue. Muhammad Zaheer Awan (Shaheed) Welfare Trust (Registered) is well aware of sensitivity of this issue and put this issue on top of it’s welfare projects. The trust utilizes its own resources, social and print media to approach widows. We keep their data and reached them to provide some financial help to these widows. The target of Muhammad Zaheer Awan (Shaheed) Welfare Trust (Registered) is to reduce their pain of losing their husbands. In this regard, they are given financial support on a monthly basis, which does not fulfill their needs, but definitely made a reasonable contribution. Muhammad Zaheer Awan (Shaheed) Welfare Trust (Registered) is striving hard to create such a comprehensive program for widows who cannot meet their needs, in which they can take care of themselves. Women who do not have their own house will get priority in this too. In the near future, together with the Government of Pakistan, a program is under consideration to develop such a project to provide residential facilities for widows in every city. Inshallah till 2027, this project will be launched. Muhammad Zaheer Awan (Shaheed) Welfare Trust (Registered) arranges new clothes for the widows on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to participate in their happiness and if they have children, the trust arranges clothes for their children as well, so that they may not feel deprived in the joyous festivals. Along with this, Muhammad Zaheer Awan (Shaheed) Welfare Trust (Registered) takes full considered the self respect of the widows and if they intend to start their own business, because provides the help and look after their business. Moreover the requirement of jobs in the society are also being conveyed to the widows. It is the policy of the Muhammad Zaheer Awan (Shaheed) Welfare Trust (Registered) to take every possible measure to achieve the goal of meeting the complete needs of the widows and very soon this goal will be achieved. Rs. 22,00,000 was distributed to various Widow, Orphan and needy families during Covid-19. Apart from this, there are many works whose details are shortened due to the length of the article.
